One Voice Texas

Advocates for Comprehensive High Quality Health and Human Services for Texas

One Voice Texas is a network of public, private and non-profit organizations and individuals working together to ensure that the health and human services needs of all Texans are addressed in legislative, regulatory, funding and other public policy initiatives.

One Voice Texas functions through identified workgroups:

Basic Needs and Community Care - food, housing, utilities, income assistance, transportation, financial stability, seniors and persons with disabilities

Behavioral Health - mental illness, substance abuse, criminal justice

Child Welfare - foster care, transitioning out of foster care, permanency, juvenile justice

Early Childhood Education - access to pre-kindergarten, child care subsidies, quality of care, and professional development

Public Education - teen pregnancy, behavior management policies, drop-out issues, professional development

Healthcare - federally qualified health clinics, innovative healthcare coverage, CHIP and Medicaid, immunization registry.

One Voice Texas supports the need for strong prevention and early intervention programs, and the ability to maximize federal funding for health and human service programs in Texas, so that we can "Keep Texas dollars working in Texas."

One Voice Texas members stand united that their responsibility is to identify health and human service needs and to recommend changes or improvements to public policy and legislation. The strength of this community based collaborative is its ability to bring together the advocacy voices of hundreds of people in a multitude of organizations.
